History of Valencia city

Valencia city

It was originally inhabited by the indigenous Bukidnon people before the Spanish colonization. The city got its name from the Spanish word “valencia,” which means bravery or valor.

During the Spanish era, Valencia City was a part of the province of Misamis Oriental. It became a separate municipality in 1879 and eventually became a city in 2001. Throughout its history, Valencia City has grown and developed into the vibrant and thriving city it is today.
